OUR MISSION
To inspire young people to write and publish their literary works for a good cause. By empowering youth as published authors, we are fostering a new generation of storytellers, creative writers, and philanthropists dedicated to making a difference.
OUR VISION
We envision a creative community where young writers can blossom, encouraging creativity and self-expression through writing. Our initiatives help youth discover their voice and gain confidence in their creative writing abilities while making impactful differences in the world, one book at a time.
WHAT WE DO
The Caring Crayon Project is a 501(C) (3) nonprofit organization, found in 2025 by a group of students, parents and a creative writing teacher dedicated to inspire youth to write and publish their own creative writing works to raise funds and provide monetary contribution to various non-profit organizations that focus on providing assistance to underserved children.
We participate in Writers in the Schools (WITS) Creative Classroom Program to cover a full-semester of creative writing programing for students at under-resourced Houston schools. This level of support to WITS will provide 20 instructional hours led by a professional WITS teaching artist, a student author visit and classroom publication, writing journals and supplies for up to 50 students at these under-resourced schools per year.
We also offer creative writing workshops during the summer for the English as a Second Language schools and help to compile poetry anthology books for these students. This unique blend of literature and charity emphasizes the importance of giving back through art and community involvement.
